Treefort is over, but we are still buzzing from all the fun we had. Evie Stevies flew into Boise from all over to celebrate music, art and culture at this year's festival. Our catering team has the awesome opportunity to cater backstage, getting a behind the scenes look at all the hard work that goes into a festival of this caliber.
Our street team worked tirelessly hitting the streets and passing out over 500 gift cards to inspire people to Eat To Give. While Treefort was happening Even Stevens Boise, located in the iconic Freak Alley, hit 200,000 sandwiches donated to This Idaho Foodbank, St Vincent De Paul Boise, Boise Rescue Mission, and Corpus Christi House. The celebration was on!
Even Stevens also hosted four days of live music as part of Treeforts second chance shows, giving folks another opportunity to catch incredible music. Our Live Music Manager, Josh Chisolm, recapped the music for us, read on and be sure to click the links to hear more from these bands.
Day 1 - March 22nd - Dodgy Mountain Men
We had the pleasure of hosting Dodgy Mountain Men for the 2nd year in a row. The packed the house with their unique "Stomp Grass" style of music. We opened the doors to the shop and took 2 hours to get a little rowdy! They provided me a picture of them on tour sporting our Even Stevens merch.
Day 2 - March 23rd - Whippoorwill
Whippoorwill also returned for the 2nd year in a row. They had the unique opportunity to help us celebrate 200,000 sandwiches donated by ES Boise. The vibes were more low key and intimate for their wonderful set.
Day 3 - March 24th - Edison
Edison was able to join us for the 3rd-second chance show of Treefort 2018 due to a last minute schedule change and wow did we luck out. Grammy-nominated Maxwell Hughes (formerly of the Lumineers) plays guitar for this incredibly talented trio out of Fort Collins, CO. The vibes in the store were electric, and everyone took the chance to take photos with the band. They loved the ES cause and expressed interest in teaming up with us for more performance/cross-promotional events.
Day 4 - March 25th - Maxwell Hughes
We could not have ended this year's stretch of 2nd chance shows any better than with Maxwell Hughes. His unique style of guitar playing had everyone hanging on the edge of their seats. People were coming in off the streets to catch of glimpse of this virtuoso and ended up buying CD's and having them autographed. Once again Maxwell was extremely interested in partnering up for future endeavors with ES as he donates a lot of his time and money to non-profit work as well.
Thank you Treefort for another great year, all the volunteers who make it happen and everyone who popped in to Eat to Give during the festival. See you next year!
