Even Stevens Announces Sloan’s Lake Nonprofit Partners

Even Stevens is coming to the Sloan’s Lake neighborhood in Denver, Colorado this August and we can hardly contain our excitement. We have scouted our the neighborhood and found the four nonprofit partners we want to partner with for our giveback program.  For every sandwich sold, Even Stevens donates one to our nonprofit partners. With 1.4 million sandwiches donated so far, Even Stevens has been able to not only feed people in need but also improve and grow community programs.

Read about our Sloan’s Lake Partners and get hyped to eat to give in Colorado!

THE ACTION CENTER

Founded in 1968, the mission of the Action Center is to provide an immediate response to basic human needs and promote pathways to self-sufficiency for Jefferson County. They provide food, clothing, shelter, and connections to community services that support clients in maintaining self-sufficiency (like healthcare navigation, case management, etc.) and serve about 120 households a day.

BIENVENIDOS FOOD BANK

In 1976 Bienvenidos Food Bank became one of the first food assistance programs in Colorado. They provide food to neighbors in need with respect and dignity. In addition to a grocery style pantry where about 200 families may “shop” every week for needed food, they also run a mobile food pantry, neighborhood centers, home delivery, food stamp assistance, a pet food pantry, and more.

SUN VALLEY YOUTH CENTER

Sun Valley has been known as one of the poorest neighborhoods in Denver for many consecutive years. Sun Valley Youth Center has been serving the youth of that neighborhood since 1999. They believe that every young person in the neighborhood deserves equal opportunities for growth and success. Programs include nightly dinner, homework help, enrichment programs, organized recreation, and more.

GRANT STREET REACH

Grant Street Reach is an entirely volunteer-run organization that started in 1994. Their primary goal is to feed and care for community members in need regardless of circumstance, with dignity and without judgment. They provide about 1,000 people with a hot, nourishing meal every Monday night, plus coats, shoes, clothes, toiletries, sleeping bags, and extra food and sandwiches to go.
