This week the Even Stevens crew headed out on an adventure to Provo, Utah to explore the town, meet local artists, and get a feel for the culture of the city.
All of our stores incorporate the history, arts, and culture of the neighborhoods they inhabit and to do that, we have to get to know the town in person. On this trip, we visited The Boxcar Studios where we had lunch from Even Stevens and coffee from Rugged Grounds with the local artists including Lyndi Bone and Havoc Hendricks. After lunch, we explored the Boxcar artists studios and the incredible antique collection in the upstairs loft owned by Jake Buntjer AKA Mister Pauper. He showed us the grounds and his vision for the artist compound. His enthusiasm and vision for the local arts community was truly inspiring
After our tour, we ventured off to Startup’s Candy Company to try the first filled chocolate bar made in American in 1895 before making our way to Center Street. Our first stop on Center Street was Cat’s Cradle Antiques, from there we discovered local arts in HERE Provo, inspired decor at Station 22 Cafe, vintage treasures at Unhinged, juice pops for only $1 at Ivie Juice Bar and some more coffee at Guru’s Cafe. Our final stop was a drink with the team and a few dollars spent in the jukebox at ABG’s Bar.
It was an incredible afternoon that only fueled our excitement for our move into the new space at 1280 N University Ave. We hope to see you there for our grand opening June 14th!
