Boys and Girls Club Celebrates Two Million Sandwiches with Even Stevens

As Even Stevens reaches 2 million sandwiches donated we celebrate all the amazing ways that Even Stevens has impacted The Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis Counties. Through the giving power of Even Stevens, we have been able to create several programs that directly impact the youth in our communities.

One of the most popular programs we have seen is the creation of The Breakfast Club. The Breakfast Club is a teen program that exists during our all-day summer programming. Teens who have already gone through the Food Handler Safety courses we provide, arrive early to the club in the summer and start cooking breakfast for the rest of the Teen Club members. In Utah, 1 in 5 kids is unsure of where their next meal is going to come from. These numbers are even higher during the summer when our kids are not fed in school. The Breakfast Club guarantees a meal for our kids who come to the club and allows our teens to make a difference in each other’s lives.

Another program that Even Stevens has allowed us to create is The Club Cares Food Pantry. This is a program that is run at teen and youth sites in the Roy and Ogden areas. Sysco funds are used to purchase food for our kids to come and pick up when they need it most. This program contains supplies for our kids to do a variety of things. They can make their sandwiches when they are hungry, grab some fruits and veggies on the run, or take some supplies home to their families. Within this program, we also create to-go quick meal kits for our kids to take home on long weekends and holidays where they will not be fed at school.

Our after-club family engagement programs would not be possible without the support of Even Stevens. We use funds from the donated sandwiches to run cooking classes for teens and their families. This includes meal planning and easy ways for our kids and their families to eat healthy on a budget.

Without Even Stevens, these programs would not be possible. Even Stevens has empowered us with the ability to teach our kid’s so many valuable skills and make an immediate impact on their lives and the lives of their families. We are thrilled to be a partner and are proud to celebrate 2 million sandwiches donated.
